One Year Since Hyderabad Blasts

So...it is a full one year since 40 innocent people, both Muslims and Hindus, lost their lives in the twin blasts that rocked Hyderabad on 25th August 2007. Go through my previous post on the same - Hyderabad Blasts - Incapable Government

So...a question arises. Are the Islamic Terrorists responsible for this act arrested, tried and is justice done ?? The answer is glaringly big NO. It clearly shows that the Government of Andhra Pradesh is completely incapable of handling such situations. They have no spine to act against the perpetrators. The reason - age old Vote Bank Politics of Congress Party. It is afraid that it would lose Muslim votes if they act strictly on the intelligence passed on by the Intelligence Bureau to the State Intelligence Department.

Andhra Pradesh Police have to learn lot of lessons from their counterparts in Karnataka, Rajasthan and most importantly, Gujarat. Ironically, these are the states ruled by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which is accused of toying a pro-Hindutva line. But, not one says that Congress is toying a pro-Muslim line. Reason ? Every god damn politician in India - from the congress to pseudo secularists like Lalu Prasad Yadav, Mulayam singh yadav, Mayawati, Ram Vilas Paswan, Karunanidhi, Deve Gowda, Chandra babu naidu and a million more toe the pro-minority line as they know that Hindus are always divided when it comes to casting votes.

Until these politicians act spinelessly, India should brace for more terrorist attacks. These politicians are not ready to bring back anti terror laws like TADA and POTA which have played a good role in bringing down terrorist acts.

Why is the Central Government taking time in hanging Afzal Guru, who is the mastermind behind the Parliament Terrorist Attack ?? We should understand that these are hard core terrorists who dont see whether they are killing a Hindu or a Muslim. They dared to strike at the heart or Indian Democracy and we need to respond accordingly.

Afzal Guru must be hanged immediately and through this we should send a message to the terrorists that We Are Not Going To Sit Idle. We Will Strike Back !!

Maybe, India needs a person like Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi to take such bold decision.

Hyderabad's Independence !

Today is the day when Hyderabad (entire Nizam State which is composed of Telengana region in Andhra Pradesh and some parts of North Karnataka and Maharashtra) was integrated into the Indian Union in 1948.

While entire India attained Independence from the British on 14th August 1947, Hyderabad could able to celebrate Independence on 17th September 1948. The Nizam of Hyderabad (richest Man in the World in 1947) refused to surrender, Indian Army captured Hyderabad through what is famously called as "Police Action" - thanks to the timely action of India's first Home Minister, and Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhai Patel. The name given to the Police Action is "Operation Polo".
No wonder Hyderabad honored this great man by naming the second longest road on his name. Longest road is Mahatma Gandhi Road.

Qasim Razvi, who headed the dreaded Ittehad-ul-muslimeen slaughtered hundreds of Hindus who are supporting the freedom movement under the leadership of Swami Ramananda Teertha.

The slaughtering forced Indian Army to enter Hyderabad even as the talks were going on between the Indian Army and the Nizam forces.
Indian Army quickly decimated the Razakars and Qasim Razvi escaped to Pakistan, where they were more than happy to give him asylum.

Here are few links that would give you information on the same:

"Leaders" Irresponsibility !!

It is quite disturbing to note the behavior of our so-called Leaders during the time of emergencies.
They are the first people to rush to the places where bombs have just exploded. What would happen if there are other bombs hidden ?
They dont want to give time to the security agencies as they would lose the limelight. They are trampling on crucial evidence.
The police have to first take care of the people who are dead and carry the injured to the hospital. The first hour of the incident is very important as lot of lives can be saved.
The politicians and the media were busy doing their "duty" while the police had to just watch at them and the helpless injured waiting for someone to take them to the hospitals.
Dont the politicians have commonsense that they should and must not venture into the ICU talking the the injured.
Even the Media was not far behind. Channel after Channel were barging into the ICU interviewing the injured.

Dont these people have a responsibility ??
We dont have a mechanism to react during emergencies.
Atleast the Government should come out with one.
Better late than Never !

My Thoughts......

On Saturday, I was driving past Gokul Chat at Kothi(place of bomb blast which killed 31 people) and I was thinking about the innocent people who have died in the bomb blast. After that, I passed through Dilsukhnagar where an unexploded bomb was found under the elevated walk through bridge.

Couple of questions came into my mind:
How were people feeling during the time of the blast as it took an agonizing 30 minutes for the first ambulance to arrive even though it is located in the heart of the city? People were in pain waiting for the ambulances to arrive.

Will people gain confidence to visit such places again in the future. Is the Government taking necessary steps assuring people ?

First of all, is Government taking such things seriously ?

Why would any human being kill other human being just for the sake of religion - even though he is sure that some of the people killed would be from his own religion ?

Are We Safe ?

On Sunday (9th September) the Punjagutta Flyover which is under construction collapsed due to heavy rains.
Four innocent people died as the concrete slabs fell on their cars and three wheeler auto rikshaws.

Who is responsible ??
Are the safety norms followed ??
Had someone checked on the performance of the Contractor ??
How can the Government assure people that steps would be taken and such things would not repeat ??
Does the Government care for its people ??
Are we safe on the roads ??

Is the Government functioning ??

Media Role During The Blast !

The attitude of the media during the twin Hyderabad blasts(one at Gokul Chat neat Koti and another at Lumbini Gardens) is highly deplorable.
In a race to be the first channel to show images, they were trampling on crucial evidence. The police have just to be onlookers as Media would write something against them if they stop them.
The media (mostly the local Telugu Channels) were airing gruesome images of the maimed bodies of the people in the blast. They forgot that there is something called dignity of a human being.
People were aghast to see dead pieces of the bodies were dragged from the vehicles onto the stretchers. My stomach churned seeing upper half body of an innocent person being dragged from a three wheeler onto a stretcher.
Then the pictures of the bodies thrown on the floor without any cloth on them have given a real bad image of the negligence we show to a dead person and the bad state our hospitals are.
On the contrary, the role of national channels like NDTV and CNN IBM have to be commended as they have blurred the gruesome images and also for their discussions on the security issues.

Hyderabad Blasts - Incapable Government

Of late, Hyderabad had become quite infamous and regular feature of bomb blasts. But the citizens of Hyderabad are proving again and again that no force on Earth can cause religious riots in the city. It is quite commendable that after the blasts, both Hindus and Muslims were helping each other in this time of trauma.
Those who have planned these blasts only want riots and insecurity in the city which is fast developing into one of the major IT and Pharma Hub in the country.
North India had become difficult to the terrorist agencies to strike as there is lot of security. South India and mostly parts of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have become safe areas to plan for strikes at bigger cities like Hyderabad and Bangalore.
Basically terrorists have no religion. Even though the point of suspicion for the blasts go to the Islamic Terrorist outfits, it should be noted that out of the dead, 14 were Muslims. That shows that terrorists dont care even if their own kin and kith are killed. They are here just to cause harm to the country.
Earlier, Indian Muslims (second largest concentration of muslims in the world) were untouched by the happennings in Bosnia or Afghanistan or Iraq. But, things have been changing now and local Muslim youth are getting attracted to Jehad. It is the Government's responsibility to make sure such things donot happen. Why will any person be attracted to die for the sake of religion ?

State Government Attitude:

It has become a habit to the State Government to pat it's back every time some major issue takes place. People are getting sick of the government's inefficiency. The Chief Minister says that "bomb blasts' happen everywhere in the world" and also he blames Pakistan and Bangladesh for every bomb blast that occurs.
I think it is hightime we stop blaming Pakistan for every terrorist incident that happens in the country.
What are out Intelligence Agencies doing ? India has one of the worlds best and most professional intelligence organizations. The main question is "Are we giving enough free hand to the agencies?". India's main problem is that politicians get involved into the investigations. They make sure that either the investigations go slow or sometimes shelved.
Look at the way the death sentence handed over by the country's highest court to the attacker of the parliament. It is not implemented due to the reasons well known to the politicians. They expect violence from Muslims !!
Look at the way Taslima Nasreen is attacked in Hyderabad (check my earlier post on this issue) by a person who is elected to the State Assembly by the people. He threatens her lifting a chair and that she would be killed if she visits Hyderabad again. All this is on camera !! And Nothing happens to them as the police hesitate to act against them fearing violence from his Muslim constituents.
Why is the government afraid of taking action ? Is it not sending wrong signals by letting such people do whatever they want to ??
When are we going to learn from the lessons ?
Until then, we have to wait for the next bomb blast !!

I feel pity for the citizens of Hyderabad and sadly, I am one amongst them!!

Blast At Mecca Masjid

There had been a blast at Hyderabad's 400 year old Mecca Masjid adjoining the Charminar on 18th May during the afternoon prayers at 1.22PM.

10 innocent lives were lost in the blast while another 6 people perished in the ensuring police firing. After the blast, the police reacted in such a questionable manner that they pushed everyone coming out of the Mosque back into the Mosque. When people started resisting this and started throwing stones at the police, the police responded by firing - that too above waist level and with live ammo instead of rubber bullets. It is later found that there were two more bombs in the mosque which were defused by the Bomb Disposable Squad in questionable means. The bombs were de-activated without using any protective shield and with people just around 10 feet away.

This shows that the Hyderabad Police is not yet ready to tackle such situations and refusing to learn lessons. Preliminary investigations revealed the handiwork of Islamic Militant outfits like Jaish-e-muhammad and Lashkar-e-toiba in the blast to create disturbances in the otherwise peaceful city.

Muslims, who were generally close to the Majlis-Ittehadul-Muslimeen political party, have turned against them and chose to remain calm instead of resorting to violence. This is a very positive sign for the city. Muslims have to identify the terrorists among them and hand them over to the authorities so that they donot face bomb blasts in their religious places by their own people.
