Negative Sides of Agitations

Oflate, the tone and tenor of the words that the people who are leading both Separate Telangana and Samaikya Andhra agitations has changed from bad to worse.

While one Andhra region guy says that "if they cant stop the screening of a movie, how can they think of getting Telangana" and the Telangana guy retorts saying "we will not let Andhra buses reach Hyderabad".

Where is this agitation leading to ?? If someone needs to be called a "Leader", he or she should earn it by their good and positive actions - not through verbal attacks or threatening people of one region or looking down at people, culture and the dialect of the people of other regions.

My sincere support the formation of Telangana doesn't give me right to threaten people of Andhra region or the Andhra settlers in Hyderabad. At the sametime, people who support united Andhra should not make fun of the dialect nor the culture of Telangana region. Andhra people should understand that even their region has different dialects varying from Chittoor - Ananthapur - Srikakulam.

If you differ on anything, better be it on economic and other related issues which make a difference to the common man rather than just saying that since we speak the same language, we need to stay together. This doesn't make sense at all.

To be a Leader, one must cultivate habit of making positive and constructive criticism!!

Yet Another Provocation by Samaikya Andhra Politicians

Looks like Provocation and Samaikya Andhra (United Andhra) Agitation go hand in hand. While the Separate Telangana State agitators are using innovative ways like a huge 500 Kilometer Human Chain and Cooking food on the highways throughout Telangana Region, Samaikya Andhra agitators are bent upon provocating Telangana people.

I already wrote about the planned Meeting in Hyderabad of Samaikya Andhra agitators on 7th February here Samaikya Andhra Politicians Provocation.

Andhra leaders are copying what Telangana agitators are innovatively doing - long human chains, cooking on the highways and now, they started to "Walk to Hyderabad". They already started yesterday from Nagarjuna University, Guntur. 57 students are taking part in the walk that covers 75% in Telangana areas, thus directly creating a serious law and order situation. They would reach Hyderabad on 16th February.

Samaikya Andhra leaders have to plan anything in their own areas rather than taking the agitation into the Telangana areas. This is an utter irresponsible act by the leaders who are pushing these innocent students towards creating a dangerous situation.

All these idiotic people need to be arrested before they cross the Telangana borders either near Suryapet or Nagarjuna Sagar or any other places. The leaders behind these innocent students should be put behind bars for creating such a volatile situation.

Telangana Agitation Turns Innovative

The strike for Telangana is getting inventive day by day.

A day after human chains were formed, some activists on Thursday set up mock kitchens in an apparent effort to send a message of cultural moorings.

The state highways between Hyderabad and Mancherial and Hyderabad and Warangal were turned into a big kitchen. After serving food, then the protestors begin singing and dancing.

Political leaders and workers, farmers, employees, students and youth and people from all walks of life gathered all along the 400-km-long route in the two directions, cooked food and served it to the long rows of people.

They also organized "Aata Patalu" (cultural and sports programme" as the teams of men played traditional games, including kabaddi. Women performed folk dance and were seen singing tunes demanding Telangana state.

All party Telangana Joint Action Committee had given the call for this novel support a day after lakhs of people of the region had organized longest human chain for a distance of 500 km from Adilabad to Alampur.

"This is part of our peaceful protest to mount pressure on the Centre. We know with out struggle and building pressure we are not going to achieve the goal," said TJAC convenor Prof Kodandaram, who participated in the community kitchen and lunch programme at Shamirpet on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

"We will continue our protest. Our effort now is to make the Centre announce the terms of reference of Srikrishna committee at the earliest without a clear deadline," he said.

Several other leaders, including KT Rama Rao of TRS and T Devender Goud of TDP also participated in the programme.

"This is our response to the Gobbles propaganda of Andhra and Rayala Seema leaders that the agitation for Telangana state was being run by Maoists and anti-social elements and that it a violent agitation. Our people are organizing these novel programs in a very peaceful manner," he said.

"I am eating whatever has been prepared and served by the poor people of Telangana. This is rice, dal and curry of brinjal. I hope this is not Bt brinjal," he said.

Similar programs were organized at many places in the districts of Medak, Karinagar, Adilabad, Nalgonda and Warangal. On Friday, National Highway No. 7 from Hyderabad to Kodad on the borders of coastal Andhra region, will witness a similar program.

On Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu's remark that Andhra and Telangana were like two eyes for him, Prof Kodandaram said, "It appears that he is heading towards a position where he will support both Andhra and Telangana states".

500 KM Long Human Chain for Telangana State

The people of Telangana on Wednesday formed a 500 kilometers-long human chain all along the National Highway number 7 from Adilabad on the northern most tip of the region to Alampur on the borders of Kurnool district, to press their demand for a separate state.

The call for this novel protest was given by the all party Telangana Joint Action Committee to send a clear message to the Central government that the people of the entire region were involved in the movement.

The chain, claimed to be the longest in the country, was formed through five districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad and Mehbubnagar.

While prominent leaders of the movement including JAC convenor Prof Kodanda Ram, N Narasimha Reddy of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and P Srinivas Reddy of the Telugu Desam Party participated in the human chain program on the Tank Bund in the heart of Hyderabad, other leaders were participating in the program in their respective districts.

Speaking on the occasion TJAC convenor Prof Kodanda Ram said that the human chain has made it clear that there was complete unanimity among the people of the region that they want a separate state. "Nothing else is acceptable to them," he said.

Women, youth, students, government employees and workers of different political parties and the mass organisations were participating in the human chain.

Just when the human chain was being formed, news came from Delhi that the Central government has announced that the proposed committee to go in to the demand for a separate Telangana will be headed by Justice Sri Krishna.

Kodanda Ram said that the TJAC will react to the committee formation only after the government comes out with the terms of reference of the committee.

The leaders of various other political parties said that they would welcome the committee only if it is meant for preparing the roadmap for Telangana state.

"But if it is going to seek the opinions of the leaders of coastal Andhra, it will be a waste of time. Because they have already made it clear that they were against Telangana state and for united Andhra Pradesh," said TRS leader and former minister N Narasimha Reddy.

Pocharam Srinivas Reddy of TDP said that he hoped that the committee will only deal with the issues connected with the formation of Telangana state and will complete its work within a set frame of time. "If it is meant for putting Telangana in cold storage, we will not accept it," he said.

M Lakshmaiah, another member of JAC, said that there was no need for such a committee as the Union home minister P Chidambaram had already announced on December 9 that the process for the formation of Telangana had started.

"If the committee means backtracking on that promise, we will not accept it," he said.

Telangana Leader Mobbed in Tirupati

Chief of the Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh, Mr.Dharmapuri Srinivas was mobbed in Tirupati by Samaikya Andhra (United Andhra Pradesh) agitators using abusive language and shouting slogans like "DS Go Back". The fact that is important to note is that this incident happened in the presence of the Chief Minister, Mr.K Rosaiah who is considered as a supporter of Samaikya Andhra Pradesh.

Looks like Samaikya Andhra agitation has gone out of the hands of the leaders. Till now, Separate Telangana agitators have not mobbed any Samaikya Andhra leader (save just for Lagadapati Rajgopal who was giving statements against Telangana living in Telangana (Hyderabad)).

It is in the hands of so called responsible leaders of Andhra to ensure that bad elements dont snatch the agitation from their hands.

If the attacks on Telangana leaders continue like this then Andhra leaders have to think twice before landing in Hyderabad as Hyderabad is in the heart of Telangana. Telangana people are bearing the Andhra leaders just for the sake of Hyderabad being temporary capital for Andhra Pradesh and Andhra leaders have equal right in living here. But they cannot take that for granted and give comments against Telangana.

The patience of Telangana people depends on how responsible Andhra leaders and agitators behave.

Samaikya Andhra Politicians Provocation

In a bid to provoke and create political unrest and law and order problem, the Samaikya Andhra (United Andhra) Joint Action Committee had decided to conduct a meeting at Hyderabad on 7th February.

Looks like their main agenda is to just create trouble in the capital city which is in the heart of Telangana.

Government should not allow such acts by irresponsible politicians whose main agenda seems to be creating trouble rather than gain anything good for the common man.

People of Telangana will not allow anyone use the land of Telangana against Telanganites.
